Leader-In-Training Program
(better known as LIT)

Did your child (11-14 years old) love their Rainbow Camp experience so much that they want to be
a camp counsellor when they grow up?  The Leader-In-Training program is a great start!

Programs and cost

LITs in the 1.0 and 2.0 programs spend one week learning what makes a great Rainbow counsellor in a fun and interactive way through a mix of presentations and hands-on activities.

After a week of learning about safety, goal setting, responsibility, team building, planning, and leading activities or games (and of course swimming!), LIT’s have a practical placement week at camp. They are supported by a counsellor and the LIT program coordinator to reach goals they have identified and gain a repertoire of new experiences working with campers.

LIT 1.0 is a two-week program geared towards those who are 11 and 12 years of age.

LIT 2.0 is a two-week program geared towards those who are 13 and 14 years of age.

*The placement is the second part of the LIT program 1.0 and 2.0 – it is not mandatory but if your LIT cannot complete the placement portion, the cost will remain the same.
